Clearly, we need to dial up some more bandwidth.
For the last few months we have all been behind the curve vis-à-vis the low hanging fruit, simultaneously lacking enough visibility to think outside the box and enough traction to prevent us being sold a pup.
Going forward, by close of play, we need to drill down and establish granularity in what should be simple thought shower but is fast becoming a no-brainer. Hot-desking the various thoughts on my radar, we originally needed to bring to the table some more joined-up thinking to see who saluted it when we ran it up the flagpole. But then it turned out that not everyone on the strategic staircase was singing from the same hymn sheet, some opting to look under the bonnet to find a win-win, with others simply choosing to kick the tyres, and thus force the can a little further down the road.
Anyone in the loop should be able to peel the metaphorical onion and then take a helicopter view that could, with my online hat on, be the elevator pitch that we could eventually bring to the table. It’s a broad church, and we can grow organically in this fluid situation, both keeping our powder dry, but also shoe-horning it in to roll out the dynamic watching brief going forward.
You’re on board, but I appreciate there’s no magic bullet we could fire that could unpick the added value by bookending the various ducks in a row, especially if one duck can upskill itself enough to be part of a 360 degree review process. Only in that way could we push the envelope enough to drop it in the thought tank and see if it floats, thus enabling a one-stop vanilla-type level of engagement once we have completed the commercials.
To be honest, it’s a fluid situation, and I would prefer in the first instance to reach out and see if it has got traction before anyone parks their tanks on my lawn.
It’s not rocket science, and I hope that is a lot clearer.
Yours etc.
